Septembers Keep Flying By

The last entry included the much anticipated Arlington High football game and the debut of Gabby's cheerleading skills. What she may not have in precision right now she makes up in cuteness. Here she is on the sidelines pregame:

She LOVES it and wants to keep doing it. I don't know if I have the strength to wear a bedazzled "Cheer Mom" t-shirt, but is she loves it.....we will support her. Gibson has been his sweet self. He wanted to help Dad out and started what we can only hope to be the beginning of a long tradition of sons taking over their father's responsibilities of yardwork:
The Mustangs Soccer team was continuing their winning streak by defeating their 1st two opponents (one game Gibson scored 2 goals!) only to have their hearts broken last week in a 2-1 defeat. Gibson is fierce not only in his offense, but Coach Kyle calls on him at least 1 quarter every game to be goalie.
We left behind all of our children's activities last weekend to spend 4 days ALONE for our 10th Anniversary. It was so fun. The destination was a surprise to Chris. He didn't know where we were going until we got to the gate for Santa Fe. After a flight and a long ride with a nose flute player (not kidding) we landed at 10,000 Waves Spa. It's a Japanese themed resort, which makes total sense being in the middle of New Mexico. It has 16 little villas that are equipped with kitchenettes and outdoor patios. You can enjoy a private tub or a variety of therapies. Chris opted for the deep tissue therapy and I got the head to toe treatment. Each guest is given a kimono to wander about the property in. It was a great weekend of doing nothing but spending much needed time togehter. Fantastic!
This was a great way to kick off Chris' month at the Fair. He's been working non-stop between the Fair during the day and night and on his off nights working for "his family". We are gearing up for Halloween. Costumes are purchased and pumpkins are out. Lots of school activities for this time of year. I guess they can't officially have a Halloween party at school anymore so now they "mask" it undr the guise of something educationational. All of the kids have to pick a letter and then their costume has to correspond to the letter and they call it the vocabulary parade. Stay tuned for that.
