A New Beginning

The beginning of the Miller-Webb blog. Very exciting. I wanted to start with something profound and thought provoking, but I realized when you do that you set a high bar and then you get discouraged to write anything at all. Instead these messages should just be simple and easy, A chronicle of the day to day goings on in our lives. What each day looks like for the Millers as they readjust to life in England and we'll give a glimpse how Gibson and Gabby are growing and changing. It feels like our week is coming to a close because the kids have Friday off of school and I decided to take Friday off to enjoy it with them. Our plan is to go to the zoo and the weather should be perfect.....not to rub it in, but it is supposed to be sunny and 85 degrees. Gibson had pictures at soccer practice and he did great tonight. I could hear the coaches telling him he was doing exactly what they wanted. This is good because we had a small tragedy earlier this week. In each classroom the kids have clothespins on a board and if they break a rule (like talking when they are not supposed to) they have to move their pin down a color. Green is the best, then yellow, then orange then so on after that to RED. I think they take away your birthday on red. Well I try to ask every day how everyone's clothespins are and everyday Gib and Gab both tell me how they have never moved out of green . That is every day until Monday. When I asked Gib he said he moved all the way to orange. He sheepishly told me he talked during announcement and then played in the Home Center when he was supposed to be at his desk. So he went from a perfect record all the way to orange. The child who hates to disappoint anyone was crushed. Cried himself to sleep and didn't eat dinner. No TV or games for him this week. The next day was Donuts with Daddy and Chris talked to his teacher who said he was a sweet kid, he just kept talking. Wonder where he gets that from. So last night since he couldn't watch TV he was my helper in the kitchen. He loves to help and did a great job. Gabby had ballet last night and she is LOVING musical theater. Not one to be shy of being on stage. Tomorrow is another day of ballet and then dinner with Betsy and Brad at Ollenjack's. Friday Gabby is performing all the cheers she learned at her cheer clinic this past weekend during the Arlington Colts Football game. Should be very exciting. I thought I'd entered an episode of Toddlers and Tiaras when I took her to the practice. Not sure I am cut out to be a cheer mom. I'm not bedazzled enough. Big concert at Levitt Pavillion this Saturday - Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis. Chris and I went on our first date to see Kelly Wilis 11 years ago THIS MONTH! I'm sure she remembers us. Hope you like the blog....wanted as much happy yellow as we could get! Miss you both.
